Down Syndrome:

Referrals:
-Cardiology for Echo (AV canal 50%, VSD 33%)
-Ophthalmology b/w 6-12mo; then q2yrs
-GI (or studies for GI Abnormalities -Hirshprungs, Esophageal atresia, TEF, PS, Duodenal atresia (only 4%))

-Polycythemia occurs in about 18% -typically self limiting occassionally requires exchange transfusion
